Electro Blues Acoustic(ish) Hobo Rock Designed for late nite listening Folks
Freak out started off life as 'Emergency Biscuit Scoff', bear that in mind when you listen to it-but keep the hob nobs/Cookies out of reach!
Movietown was written as US forces went into Iraq (the second time) and I saw a sign on a church whilst walking to the studio-'Jesus loves you' it said or some such and I thought the people out there-and elsewhere-could maybe do with something more solid like food/shelter/peaceful existence to bring up their families in.The kind of existence a lot of us are lucky enough to take for granted.
Handsome Curves and Tea n Toast I ll let you figure out for yourselves
Tech corner-begun on a 4 track cassette machine at home using a beep beep tiddy metronome all dumped onto one track as a guide. The drums were then recorded through a Soundcraft 600 console onto the remaining 7 tracks of a half inch tape machine-god bless-the tracks were then built up inside the computer. My mate George dubbed some 'gob iron' as he call's it and ace Sax Wiz Tony Birkhill from Leeds blew on 'Freak out', making so much noise people elsewhere in the building were wondering what the f~~k was going on!
Then Roni got hold of em (Peak studio's Bradford UK) and rocked it all up and finally a chap called Streaky in London mastered em-hey presto!
Enjoy love Hooby
